Do you work in a department store? Or would you buy jewelry at a department store counter?

Anonymouse asked:

I’m starting soon at the jewelry counter at a national chain department store. I’m afraid that not enough people buy jewelry at department stores but rather go directly to a jeweler and that I won’t be busy enough to both pass the time and to make decent money (I’ll be working for a base hourly wage plus commission). What are your experiences here?

Carve The Pumpkin

I found a great idea in a magazine I was reading months ago, Most of us have an orange zester in our kitchen gadget collection. Instead of cutting of the top of the pumpkin and scooping out all the seeds and pulp, that’s a yucky job. Ok get your zestier out and look at it. One end grates and the other end peels small strips of skin off. If you don’t have one you can pick up one in most grocery stores, or in a department store. They are inexpensive and can be used all year long.

Use the end where it strips off the flesh. You can go crazy with your design, or simple, I prefer to do leaf patterns that way I can use it at Thanksgiving, killing two birds with one stone. But you can make all sorts of squiggly lines. Read the rest of this entry »

How do you keep all your jewelry organized?

jewelry
I’m Better Than You asked:

Ok, I have a lot of jewelry: long and short necklaces, rings, bracelets, watches, belly button rings, and other body piercing jewelry too!
I have a jewelry box but it seems to be shrinking because it’s not big enough to store all my jewelry now.….So, I end up keeping a lot of the jewelry laying all around the jewelry box, but not in it and it’s a big mess!
Any suggestions of what to do and how to keep in nice and organized?

What can you do with body jewelry you can no longer wear?

jewelry
M F asked:

Over the years I have amassed a large collection of body jewelry, most of which I can no longer wear. I would like to get rid of the majority of it, but cannot sell it through the various auction/marketplace sites (for obvious reasons). Does anyone have any suggestions for ways to unload used body jewelry and possibly make some cash at the same time?

Start Own Candle Business

There is the one oldest children song we usually hear about candles. “It is better to light just one little candle than to stumble in the dark…” Actually, candles, what are they for?

Day by day, the candles uses have been changing. For some countries, they are basic tools for worship. They would always be found on churches, temples and other worship places. Cakes come with candles too; this gives them the symbolic touch. This makes them as part of ceremonies such as inauguration, commencement activities and the like. Read the rest of this entry »

Can I bring my own body jewelry to a piercing place instead of buying theirs?

Dumblydore asked:

The jewelry they have you buy when you get piercings usually costs three or four times a price I would pay elsewhere for the same quality and material, so a piercing that’s $25 or so could end up costing something like $50 total with jewelry included. Have you ever brought in your own jewelry and had them use it after you got pierced so you would only have to pay for the piercing?

If it makes a difference, I’m not allergic to any metals, I live around LA, and I’m thinking about a rook-to-helix industrial (if anyone knows how much this piercing costs, I’d love to know).

Thanks!
