Easy Create Christmas Crafts

Some of the simplest Christmas crafts are not only inexpensive but also alluring and so very meaningful. Consider something as easy and fun as making your own napkin rings which can easily be printed off of the internet, colored and used for the Christmas dinner table.
What about some photo ornaments for the tree? One idea that makes for a very accepted and welcome Christmas gift is to make some yummy cookies with your kids as helpers, of course. Then package them up, about a half a dozen or so, in a snazzy Christmas bag and secure each with some red and green ribbon. Be sure to curl the ends and there you go a wonderful little gift for that someone special.
Another idea that the kids will just love is to let the kids color print out Christmas cards that you will send to family and friends. People are not looking for perfection here but rather the thought behind it all. These are the types of gifts that mean more than anything.
What could be cuter than having the kids assist with making name tags for Christmas dinner? With a few simple items such as paper cups, napkins, and a couple of suckers you can make the most interesting place cards.
Now why go out and buy an overpriced Christmas wreath when you can easily put one together yourself with just a tad of effort? The scraps that are found all around the Christmas tree lots can be wired together and fit to perfection, from there you can hot glue in some pine cones or berries.
What could mean more, well besides the food, than a beautiful Christmas centerpiece? If you attempt to order a live floral arrangement for your centerpiece you will soon discover that you really can’t touch one for under $25 and you will not get much for your money there. But for less than half of that you can make your own beautiful arrangement with live flowers and candles to boot.
Part of your Christmas tradition should always include making things that people love and this goes beyond the basic pecan pies, homemade cookies, and homemade candies. Expand this tradition into taking the little bit of extra effort and time and making some things.
This will not only save you money but you will also be proud as guest’s compliment how crafty you are, even if you aren’t because you don’t have to be to do these things. It is also time well spent with your children and then they too can take part of the credit for your creativity.

Personalized Christmas Ornaments
There are many families in the world, wherein, the art of making, designing and carving out Christmas Ornaments from just about anything, has been passed down from generation to generation. Learning traditional way of designing such ornaments, or getting them made from one of such people who know how to do it, can really add an old-world charm to your Christmas Tree.
In this write up, we present one of the many ways in which you can tweak your Christmas ornaments just a wee bit to give it a distinct feel of your own.
You would need a few things to get started with, though. Keep a few standard ornaments (like stars, balls etc.) at hands, a few ribbons, card boards, scissors, cellophane papers and some glitter pens. You might also want to keep a craft kit at hand, just in case you need to add a bit more to the ornaments to make them look like your own!
You can use the glitter pens to write the names of people the ornaments are meant for. This gives a really unique and personal feel to the person receiving the gift. You can then cut the cellophane papers in different shapes and make bows out of them. These bows can then be arranged on top of the ornaments and might bear messaged for the recipient.
Writing personalized messages, each different from the other, can really lend a distinct flavor to an ornament, even if you are gifting every member of the family with the same thing. To add that final charm to the bow, that you have just carved out of the cellophane paper, you can use red and white ribbons to tie the bows in their place- giving the Christmas Ornaments, a truly gentleman-like look and feel.
If you are designing an ornament for one of the female members of your family, then rather than making a bow and ribbon combination, you can use the cellophane and the red and white ribbons to form a ballet-dancer frock type combination on the ornament. Using a lot of pink and white can actually lend a very feminine feel to the end product, making it distinct and making it stand apart from the rest of the crowd.
Finally, you can add the cherry on the cake by enclosing the packaged gift within a glass casket or a jute basket. For boys, jute baskets can be used, whereas, glass balls and enclosures work just fine with girls.

Use Clay Making Lesson Plans to Craft Homemade Christmas Ornaments
Posted by craft on
August 29, 2010
No matter how you celebrate the holidays, you most likely have several traditions that are upheld year after year. Whether it is gathering the whole family at your favorite aunt’s house or singing Christmas carols while someone plays the piano, you probably repeat the same tradition each holiday season. One tradition that the Christmas season brings is the exchanging of Christmas ornaments.
Maybe you exchange ornaments with a close group of friends or simply exchange ornaments with family members to save some money for Christmas. But if exchanging Christmas ornaments is something that you do each year, perhaps this year you could bring an ornament that is sure to get some attention. Rather than going out and buying any old ornament you could instead choose to make a beautifully homemade ornament that is sure to be unique. It is really simply to create a small and stylish ornament just from using some clay making lesson plans. There are many different ornaments that you could choose to make. You could make an ornament with many different colors and textures or go for the more simple method and go with a solid color instead. If you are having trouble trying to decide what type of ornament to create you could walk through your local store and browse through their ornaments for some ideas.
For your homemade ornament you could mold a Christmas stocking or candy cane from clay. If you wanted to go for the extra easy ornament, all you would really need is to use your clay extruder to form rolls of clay in white and red. Then simply twist the two colors around each other, form a type of hook at the top and you have yourself a simple candy cane. To make things even simpler, choose a type of clay that does not need to be fired to harden. This clay will simply have to set out in order for it to set up perfectly making your job even easier.
One thing that you should keep in mind is the weight of your ornament. You don’t want to create a large ornament that is a solid lump of clay otherwise the weight of the ornament will be too heavy for the Christmas tree branches. If you are feeling really creative you could attempt to create an ornament on a potter wheel. Before you begin throwing your clay on the wheel you should use a centering device to center your clay so you are ensured that your piece won’t come out lopsided.

Easy Christmas Craft Ideas For Kids
Posted by craft on
August 29, 2010
One special Christmas craft idea for your children is to have them make their own individualized Christmas ornaments. You can encourage them to think up their own decoration ideas. Virtually any type of material, including regular paper, can be used to make Christmas ornaments. Your local craft store should have Christmas craft kits with cutouts and stencils. Often these cutouts are in plain shapes, such as a star or cross. Your child gets to decide how to decorate each ornament.
Most families have many Christmas decorations around the house, such as figures, signs and pictures, and of course, a Christmas tree. The signs and pictures usually carry a favorite Christmas message or saying, or feature a likeness of Santa. Pictures like this can easily be made by your kids, using supplies that are already available in the house. A child’s Christmas picture can be used as great refrigerator art, or you could frame and hang it somewhere the child can see it often. Christmas craft projects are ideal for children of all ages and usually cost next to nothing, as you may already have most of the necessary supplies in the house.
Another craft project for the kids to make is a Christmas centerpiece for the dinner table. A special decoration like that can be used on the table during Christmas dinner. And if you prefer a more elegant look for your centerpiece, the children can still create something to suit your taste. Buy some artificial flowers and other decorative Christmas-themed items, along with a large bowl or vase. Then let the kids arrange the flowers and other decorations to make their own fancy centerpiece. It’s a good idea to let kids use their imaginations in making crafts.

Handmade Beaded Christmas Ornaments
Posted by craft on
August 28, 2010
Most people think of beaded ornaments as small tiny beads that drape over a ball ornament.? My grandmother made Christmas ornaments that used beads, thread, wire and safety pins to create the ornament.? They created an object and you could tell what it was by looking at it.? Some Christmas ornaments didn’t have a definite shape, but they went together to form a beautiful ornament.? Each year we looked forward to the season when we could pick out one of her latest designs.? We were limited to one or two depending on how many she made of a particular design.? She would repeat designs, but did them in different colors,? It was very difficult to try and choose as they were all beautiful.
When she passed away, there was? no one to carry on the tradition.? Being crafty helps, but it was frustrating trying to learn how to make those ornaments…it took me forever to get the first bell ornament completed.? There was no one to teach me and I was about to give up after the first three tries, but then I decided that if she could do it at the age of 80, I could do it!? It took me four hours to complete that Christmas ornament. Now I can do one in 35 minutes.? Most of my other ornaments only take about 20 minutes or less to make. But they are something that can be given and will last forever.?
I have added many different designs to my Christmas ornaments collection, but have been unable to reproduce some of her more intricate designs.? Everyone still looks forward to each Christmas season to see what new ornaments I have found.? I try to find new patterns each year, but it is very difficult as not many people use beads to create an ornament.?

Unique Snow Globe Ornament Craft

How to make a unique ornament with your kids:
I learned how to make this style ornament back when I was in summer camp, it was very easy and a lot of fun. Now I enjoy making these ornaments with the kids in the preschool I work at. It is really interesting to see how each ornament comes out looking unique and different from one another. The kids like being able to make a special gift for their parents and they do such an adorable job.
To began just take a clear plastic ornament (which you can find at your local craft store) and pull off the top and pour in your choice of confetti or glitter a quarter of the way up the ornament. Next you will want to put the top back on your ornament before moving on to the next step. This will give your ornament an effect some what link a snow globe. Before you move on you should make sure you place some plastic ore newspaper down since you will be dealing with glue, we all know glue and carpet don’t mix. Then you can create a picture or design on your ornament with a glitter glue or elmer’s glue and then just add the glitter separate, either will work. After you have the design of the ornament the way you want it just leave it to dry for an hour or two. Once it is dry you can use some ribbon to make a bow for the top. Another fun tip is instead of using glitter you can glue different shapes and colors of tissue paper on to it giving your ornament a stain glass effect.
This is something your kids can do on their own or you can get the whole family involved and what a great way to spend family night together. These ornaments make great gifts for your kids to give there grand parents and give these a sense of accomplishment. All of these materials are cheap and can be found at your local craft store. Below is a list of things you will need before you get started making this ornament. Make sure when you get the glitter and confetti you get a lot of variety so your designs will all look original.
What you need:
Clear plastic ornaments
Elmer’s glue / Glitter Glue
Glitter
Ribbon
Confetti
Scissors
Disposable mixing cup
Newspaper or plastic

Posted by craft on

If you are looking for different ideas for making your own Christmas ornaments – why not consider the Temari ball. Temari is an old Japanese folk art, that originally started making toys for babies using old kimono threads. Today the art is strong and there are many ways of making and decorating Temari balls. Using Temari ball as handmade Christmas ornaments is an unusual Christmas idea.
What is Temari?
Temari art is based upon an ancient Japanese craft of using old kimono silk to make toys for babies. The old kimonos would be reduced to threads. The threads were used to wrap around a ball made of anything (wood chips, rice, old fabric even paper. The idea is to completely cover the ball first on thick threads then in thinner threads to give you a ball shape with a textured finish. then the work of making the design starts. The design is embroidered onto the ball using traditional methods. Any kind of thread can be used silk colors or gold and silver thread.
Handmade Christmas Ornaments
For a Christmas decoration, a design is worked out first, with a theme of say snowflakes or possibly a flower design could be used with Christmas colors. Then the design is embroidered onto the ball using traditional techniques. The result is an unusual decoration to which a ribbon to hang it and tassels to embellish it can be added. There are many ways to create your own unique Temari Christmas Ornament. Making a new design instantly makes your Christmas ball different, changing the colors on the design gives you another look.
Making your own Christmas decorations can be a pleasure or a chore depending upon your perspective. If you enjoy a challenge and are confident in your craft skills, making a Temari Christmas ornament will give you pleasure as well as provide an interesting Christmas decoration for years to come.?

My Craft Shed – Ideas For Using an Outdoor Storage Shed As a Craft and Hobby Center
Posted by craft on
August 24, 2010
Anyone who loves to do a variety of crafts and hobbies knows just how difficult it can be to find room for everything inside your home. Once you start developing hobbies, the materials and resources you have for that hobby just seem to multiple all on their own. And this makes it very frustrating for you and your family too. You love your hobby and can’t resist buying new things for it every time you come across great materials and sales, but your home is overflowing so much that you feel like you can barely walk around everything sometimes.
And this is where storage sheds can be a wonderful addition to your home. Using an outdoor storage shed for your craft materials not only opens up room in your home, it also gives you plenty of space to help keep all your materials more organized. There are many different types of hobbies we all have though, so here are several ideas for how a storage shed can help with one or more of your own, or your family’s favorite hobbies.
Whether you love to crochet, knit, sew clothing, create quilts, or embroidery, if you’re like the rest of us you have tons of extra supplies. It’s just not possible to resist a sale on beautiful yarns or fabrics, and you know you’ll use everything sooner or later, right?
Well using a storage shed to keep these materials is an excellent way to keep it from over running your home, and it also does wonders for helping you to keep things organized. When you use a storage building to keep your craft and hobby materials, you can set up small bins on shelves to hold buttons, threads, and scrap materials for instance.
You can also have larger bins and containers to hold your crochet or knitting yarns – in fact you can separate yarns into bins based on projects, or based on colors, then just label the bins so you’ll be able to easily find the yarns you want at any time.
Use other bins to hold your fabrics for sewing, scrapbooking or other hobbies too, and again separate these by color, fabric type, or project you plan to use them for.
Try putting in a filing cabinet, shelves, or small bins to hold your project patterns and instructions too. You could have individual binders on shelves for instance, which hold your crochet or knitting patterns, clothing sewing patterns, and Scrapbooks you create too.
