Halloween is almost upon us. Kids are all excited on what to wear and this would include their parents, especially their moms, in finding the right costumes.
Costumes can vary from zombies, vampires, ghouls, ghosts, ogres, heroes, some cute animals, and some are just trying to look like a celebrity or anyone famous.
There are a lot of costumes in shopping malls and stores. There are even custom made shops, which caters for customers who are in need of costumes for the Halloween. All of these stores also carry a lot of Halloween accessories that can match your costumes.
Due to financial crisis that we are having at these times, we need to a little belt cinching on unnecessary expenses. This does not mean that your kid can not join their friends to go trick or treating. You can make a Halloween costume with anything that you can find in your closet. Be creative!

A lot of items in our cabinet can be easily fashioned into a costume. Your kid can go as a cowboy or cowgirl. All it will need is a shirt, long sleeves, jeans, bandana and a hat. Another idea is a gypsy. You can layer a few clothes and skirt and with a matching earring and make –up, everything is all set. Kids love pirates, all you will need are jeans, black shirt, vest, belt, bandana, and boots.
Don’t forget about yourself – for example, you can be a tourist! There must be a Hawaiian shirt in your closet. Add some Bermuda shorts, a visor, a camera (or two) around your neck, and sandals on your feet (socks optional). For a funny effect, stuff the butt of your pants for that extra-dorky look. Find or make some brochures and tickets to stuff in your pockets and you’re good to go!
Or be a nerd! Just wear your clothes a size too small, with your shirt buttoned all the way up, and pants pulled up too high, over white socks and Grandpa shoes. Add a pocket protector, fake zits, and gel in your hair to make it look extra-geeky.
A little creativity and imagination can go a long way. With these in mind, you and your children will surely have a blast this Halloween season.
