Use Clay Making Lesson Plans to Craft Homemade Christmas Ornaments

If you are having trouble trying to decide what type of ornament to create you could walk through your local store and browse through their ornaments for some ideas.
For your homemade ornament you could mold a Christmas stocking or candy cane from clay. If you wanted to go for the extra easy ornament, all you would really need is to use your clay extruder to form rolls of clay in white and red. Then simply twist the two colors around each other, form a type of hook at the top and you have yourself a simple candy cane. To make things even simpler, choose a type of clay that does not need to be fired to harden. This clay will simply have to set out in order for it to set up perfectly making your job even easier.
One thing that you should keep in mind is the weight of your ornament. You don’t want to create a large ornament that is a solid lump of clay otherwise the weight of the ornament will be too heavy for the Christmas tree branches. If you are feeling really creative you could attempt to create an ornament on a potter wheel. Before you begin throwing your clay on the wheel you should use a centering device to center your clay so you are ensured that your piece won’t come out lopsided.

Handmade Beaded Christmas Ornaments

Everyone still looks forward to each Christmas season to see what new ornaments I have found.? I try to find new patterns each year, but it is very difficult as not many people use beads to create an ornament.?
