No matter how you celebrate the holidays, you most likely have several traditions that are upheld year after year. Whether it is gathering the whole family at your favorite aunt’s house or singing Christmas carols while someone plays the piano, you probably repeat the same tradition each holiday season. One tradition that the Christmas season brings is the exchanging of Christmas ornaments.
Maybe you exchange ornaments with a close group of friends or simply exchange ornaments with family members to save some money for Christmas. But if exchanging Christmas ornaments is something that you do each year, perhaps this year you could bring an ornament that is sure to get some attention. Rather than going out and buying any old ornament you could instead choose to make a beautifully homemade ornament that is sure to be unique. It is really simply to create a small and stylish ornament just from using some clay making lesson plans. There are many different ornaments that you could choose to make. You could make an ornament with many different colors and textures or go for the more simple method and go with a solid color instead. If you are having trouble trying to decide what type of ornament to create you could walk through your local store and browse through their ornaments for some ideas.
For your homemade ornament you could mold a Christmas stocking or candy cane from clay. If you wanted to go for the extra easy ornament, all you would really need is to use your clay extruder to form rolls of clay in white and red. Then simply twist the two colors around each other, form a type of hook at the top and you have yourself a simple candy cane. To make things even simpler, choose a type of clay that does not need to be fired to harden. This clay will simply have to set out in order for it to set up perfectly making your job even easier.
One thing that you should keep in mind is the weight of your ornament. You don’t want to create a large ornament that is a solid lump of clay otherwise the weight of the ornament will be too heavy for the Christmas tree branches. If you are feeling really creative you could attempt to create an ornament on a potter wheel. Before you begin throwing your clay on the wheel you should use a centering device to center your clay so you are ensured that your piece won’t come out lopsided.

Handmade Beaded Christmas Ornaments

When she passed away, there was? no one to carry on the tradition.? Being crafty helps, but it was frustrating trying to learn how to make those ornaments…it took me forever to get the first bell ornament completed.? There was no one to teach me and I was about to give up after the first three tries, but then I decided that if she could do it at the age of 80, I could do it!? It took me four hours to complete that Christmas ornament. Now I can do one in 35 minutes.? Most of my other ornaments only take about 20 minutes or less to make. But they are something that can be given and will last forever.?
I have added many different designs to my Christmas ornaments collection, but have been unable to reproduce some of her more intricate designs.? Everyone still looks forward to each Christmas season to see what new ornaments I have found.? I try to find new patterns each year, but it is very difficult as not many people use beads to create an ornament.?
