Recycled Ornaments

In this simple project craft for Christmas gifts you can use old greeting, birthday, or holiday cards and leftover cardboard to make ornaments. This activity promotes fine motor skills, recycling, scissoring, painting, planning, and design skills.
Cut the cardboard into simple geometric shapes, circles and diamonds work well. Cut the pictures from the cards and glue onto the cardboard shapes. Use a ribbon or yarn around the edge of the cardboard, secure with glue or pins. These can be very simple to very ornate. Feel free to bring glitter, ribbons, and other odds and ends into the fun.
